SPRING LAKE — It didn't take long for Assemblyman Joseph Cryan to figure it out: The people of this community, at least those who attended a forum Tuesday night on school consolidation, are not eager to consolidate.
Many small towns in the State of New Jersey have worked hard over the years to build schools that serve the best interest of their communities... Schools that reflect their values and traditions while providing quality education balanced with fiscal responsibility.
Governor Corzine and the State Legislature are trying to impose a "one size fits all" approach to educating our children in the misguided hope that it will control costs.
C.A.R.E. does not oppose regionalization in all cases, but in our towns where we have outstanding test results, administrators committed to controlling costs and parents and citizens highly involved in the schools, it just does not make sense.
